Description
Original spray paint and hand cut stencil painting of a Cardinal (Male).
This original artwork features spray paint and hand-cut stencils on a reclaimed Montana 94 spray paint box. The same boxes my spray paint cans arrive in. Once flattened, these discarded materials serve as a unique canvas rooted in street art culture.
Each box retains its original character, complete with flaws, tears, tape, creases, and other natural embellishments. I intentionally preserve these elements to add depth, texture, and authenticity. No two reclaimed boxes are alike, making each artwork truly one of a kind.
The image is built through multiple layers of hand-cut stencils and spray paint. Each layer creating shadows and highlights that give the illusion of a three-dimensional object.
Time-lapse videos showing the creation process of this piece and others are available on my social media accounts and YouTube channel, offering insight into the layered stencil technique behind the work.
A strong addition for collectors drawn to process-driven art, reclaimed materials, and contemporary street aesthetics.
